Our client, a South African nursery specialising in forestry, fruit and vegetable seedling production, is seeking an Assistant Nursery Manager for its KwaZulu-Natal operation. The role supports the propagation of clonal avocado trees and assists with nursery operations, staff supervision, irrigation, production administration, logistics and client support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with managing nursery propagation activities.
• Support the supervision and management of nursery employees.
• Manage irrigation and nutrient programmes for greenhouse and shade-house plants.
• Coordinate dispatch activities and logistics.
• Capture production data and maintain full plant traceability.
• Provide after-sales technical support to clients.
• Assist with farm maintenance activities.
• Support construction and expansion projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant diploma or degree in Horticulture or Agriculture.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Own transport.
• Ability to work the required weekday hours and perform weekend duties.

Advantageous Experience

• Avocado or orchard experience.
